Hi,

First of all, you should resetting NVRAM, then:

1. boot in Recovery Mode

2. Reformat internal boot drive with DiskUtility.

3. reinstall macOS on internal boot drive.

It should works.

Make sure to erase the whole physical SSD. Within Disk Utility you may need to click "View" and select "Show All Devices" before the physical drive appears on the left pane of Disk Utility. Erase the whole drive as GUID partition and APFS (top option).

At what stage did it crash? During the first copy phase? Or did the first phase finish and the laptop rebooted for the second phase? I take it, it never got to the point where Setup Assistant was helping you to configure the new OS? Any error messages?

If none of our suggestions help, then you will need to "Restore" the T2 firmware which will reset the T2 security chip as well as pushing a copy of macOS onto the SSD for a clean install. This will destroy all data on the laptop. It will also require access to another Mac running macOS 10.15+.

Re-Mount the Drive:

Boot into Recovery Mode (Intel or Silicon) . You need to click the “Mount’ button to proceed. So, select the drives, and then click "Mount" Try rebooting once more. If of no success, then click unmount button, and then the mount button. Try rebooting once more. It looks dulled-out. So, if you cannot click it, then click the First Aid button to fix this volume.
