If i buy icloud storage on my broken phone through pc will my broken iphone backup?

My iphone 8 plus is broken and my icloud storage was full i never updated It, if i update It now will i get my contacts, notes, messages etc that was on my broken phone back? Im getting a new iphone but my current iphone (8 plus) screen and back is cracked i cant seen anything but my siri still answer. So im on my Pc and i downloaded icloud and before i buy icloud storage i need to be sure Everything that is currently on my broken iphone will be in my backups if i were to update icloud storage.
