I can delete it from trash, but when I open Photos again, it shows up in the trash again. I did check the recents and imports with no luck. The problem only happened in Messages. I have another problem, though-- a corrupt volume that I discovered through Disk Utility. I tried repairing the volume in Recovery mode, but it didn't repair it.
Is there any difference between photos that will add to the library and those that dont?
Have you checked in imports or recents in the photos for the ones that are not going in (depening on the date the photo was taken they might not appear in the library where you expect to see them.
For whatever reason, the Photos issue has resolved itself-- maybe from all the Disk Utility repairs that I ran. Photos now do import from Messages, and that troublesome new Photo Library doesn't show up in the Trash. Now, my biggest problem is the corrupt volume that I described in another post.
It's worrisome because I can't delete it. There has to be some conflict somewhere.
Why worry about it - it is a temporary file of zero size and it's already been moved to trash.
I forgot to mention that there is another issue. In Messages on y MacBook Pro, I clicked Add to Photo Library on some photos, but they didn't go to my library.

Do you mean you can't delete it from Trash?
