How can I set my new Apple watch to always on. I tried rebooting. That doesn't work.

It was on . So I turned it off . Now it turns black with wrist down. Then goes on with wrist up . Is that his it should be ?

Then I changed the face . Seems to be on all the time . I think that did it . Thanks for your help .
