sign in to apple id on macbook pro 2021.

How to sign in to Apple ID on Macbook Pro 2021 (Monterey)? The picture

says click on Preferences and then click on Sign In. There is no Sign

In that I can see. How to get into Apple ID?

Go to System Preferences and in the top row, click Apple ID. You should be able to sign in there.

Thanks. I see now why I wasn't being asked to sign in. I was already signed in and didn't realize it. It seems that when logged into iCloud and other services, such as Find My Mac, you are already in your Apple ID account. I didn't realize that. Thanks.
