loose volume buttons?

This happens on a few phones. If u go to a apple store some do some don't. I think more of the phones at the store will have this problem because of much ware and tare. I've swapped 5 phones so far for variouse reasons and the phones with build problems would have the loose bottons. The ones i had that had battery problems and the one I'm on now have firm not loose bottons. Same with my fathers

It's normal. The volume and power buttons on both mine and my wife's phone do this.

I'm a little late to this discussion. But my new iPhone 4 volume buttons have a little "play" in them. Called apple care. They said it wasn't a known problem. AT&T store said the same thing. Played with the phones at the stores. Most of them had play in them. I'd bet money, for those that have a phone, and their volume buttons don't have this "play", it will eventually occur. Also, if you look closely, you will see that both buttons move at the same time in the same direction. It looks to me as if it is one piece (not two separate buttons).

Yes for me and also the power button. My friend pressed it real hard when using it cause he thought it was on speaker. And when I checked it, it got loose but does not seem like a problem.

Mine does as well. It's good to know I'm not the only one! I never thought I was, but still :P

Mine doesn't do this at all, but an easy fix for this is to use a case that also covers the volume buttons

The bumper covers them, as well as most silicone cases. If it's bothering you a lot you could see if an Apple store would replace it. This IS normal though for most phones, even an iPhone..

I said that I don't have an issue with mine as it is not loose, was just giving an idea to others.

Yes, if this doesn't happen now it will happen in the future. I had an HTC which had tight buttons and they eventually became loose.

mine are all solid no movement at all.
