Can We get imessage/sms on apple id /email ..as need to monitor my very old parents messages .We are using different apple ids. Thanks

Have old parents , need to monitor their sms , we all have different apple ids, earlier we could receive imessages and sms on email also as I came to know but for last few years this has been removed. In Imessage settings we do find send and receive with email or phone nbr , but it does not come on email …any suggestions or am I missing something .thx

The only way to monitor Apple Messages app messages is to log into the same Apple ID, which works but introduces other issues as an Apple ID is not intended to be shared, and gets very awkward as monitored users are added; you need a device for each.

Something to try…

Parental Controls / Screen Time offers Communications Limits to contacts only, and your carrier can usually block unknown SMS senders. Set a Screen Time password.

Absent SMS logging or some other feature (possibly) offered by the carrier, SMS is going to be difficult to monitor outside of Continuity, and probably better to restrict or disable that entirely. Check with the carrier.

Might also want to check with a lawyer here about legal paperwork appropriate for this whole situation, too. You’re wiretapping and that presumably with permission, but these situations can sometimes sour.
