How do you add external camera speaker to sound output list for mac mini

I have an external camera/speaker that works with facetime but not with Chrome. Sound output's only option in system preferences is the display monitor and the mac mini speaker. It does not have an option for the external speaker. Is there a way to add that option to use the external speaker instead of the mac mini speaker, which sounds terrible?

I have a mac mini 2020, brand new Montery.

Hello AnnLauB,

This page here can help to provide some helpful info regarding changing the sound output settings on a Mac: Change the sound output settings on Mac - Apple Support

On here it'll help to note:

All sound output devices available to your Mac are listed, including the computer’s internal speakers, devices plugged into your computer’s sound port (Audio port icon), USB speakers, and AirPlay devices.

For any device plugged into the computer’s sound port, choose Headphones.

If it seems to work everywhere else aside from Google Chrome, then you may wish to try reaching out to Google support and/or the manufacturer of the speaker: Google Help

Cheers.
