Help! Why can't I install Logic Pro 8 on my iMac running Catalina 10.15.7 ? (I've got a intel quad-core i5 & 32 gig of ram)

There's no way Logic 8 is going to work on Catalina. The code is way too old (PowerPC code). You won't get Logic 9 to work on Catalina either. I think Logic 8's last OS was 10.6.8 and Logic 9 was about 10.12.x (Sierra) I think.
I LOVED Logic 8 and hung on to it as long as I could. Alas, unless you put on a very old OS it is not going to work.
Anything after Sierra (High Sierra and above) completely changed the code base.

Yep, and 10.6.x runs as well on Catalina here.

Thank you. I was misinformed and bought the Logic 8 to try out because I was told the new Logic 10 would not work on Catalina either.
