unable to load podcast app since updated to ios 15.6

hello, I updated my iPad Air 3rd gen., to the latest iOS update of 15.6 and now my iPad can not load the Apple podcast app. It just spins updating library. I have cleared cache and restarted twice and and given it over an hour and still when I try to open the app it just spins ‘Updating Library’.😵‍💫

I updated from iOS15.5 after reading the ‘learn more’ and thought I should because of security reasons after reading about a kernel vulnerability they were addressing in the update.

I did a search online for issues with iPad Air 3rd gen updating to iOS 15.6 and nothing showed up. I know now I should have done my search here on Apple community instead of my search engine DuckDuckGo.

I also tried to update my iPhone SE and I just checked and it showed it didn’t update bc I was not plugged into power. So I’m not going to update my iPhone SE until this is figured out.

There is one other post that asks about this but not much details so decided to post my own question in hopes someone out there can help troubleshoot or if Apple is aware and I have to wait until another update. Which is sad bc I use my Apple podcast a lot. I don’t want to use Spotify again due to their changes.
