I cannot get blade (new scissors icon) to turn off other than closing FCP and re opening it.

Anyone else had this and have a solution please. Just bought a MacPro and experienced in other video editors.....

Zoom with the trackpad on MacBook behaves uncontrollably in Final Cut Pro. The zoom gesture on the timeline using the MacBook’s trackpad in Final Cut Pro behaves uncontrollably. It moves as if with inertia and is impossible to control. Meanwhile, everything works perfectly in Premiere Pro and even CapCut. I’ve already removed all unnecessary applications, booted in Safe Mode, created a new user, and reinstalled FCP — none of that helped. At the same time, my friend doesn’t have this issue! iMovie won't close out after new update on my Mac mini Since I updated my Mac mini a couple weeks ago, iMovie won't close any more. It keeps saying it must complete other tasks. When I check the activity toolbar, there is no activity.

Found solution it is under SELECT for the tool.....in fact if you just press A it goes away....sorry ....
