Final Cut Pro 10.7: It immediately crush when I click colour correction.

When I edit a video file (15-30 MB) very simple, just chroma key and add background. And then I click colour correction icon, immediately crush and the error report pop up... I have restarted MacBook, but still. So far never happened before such crush.

My MacBook 2019 16 inches 32GB 512GB. FCP 10.7.

What version of macOS? Whenever the application crashes, delete its preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences. The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

removing the preferences is not the solution. The problem persists in Sonoma 14.2 (intel mac)

As you said, deleting the environment settings is not a fundamental solution, but it will be better than now. At this stage, Intel Mac users can perform the most stable editing using FCP10.6.10. 10.7 is full of bugs and it's difficult to protect your important data.😫 Intel Macs are becoming obsolete. I think macOS updates will be finished within a few years and it will no longer be a target for application development.

If you touch the color inspector icon, it will crash, so please call it with a shortcut or preset if possible.

  • ⌘6: Color board/Color wheel
  • ⌘7: Video scope

--

If you save preset layouts for cut editing and color adjustment, you can recall them at any time, reducing the risk of crashes.👍 Please refer to the link for instructions on how to save layout presets.
