Apple Watch Series 3 and iPhone XR

i have an Apple Watch (series 3) and I paired it to a previous iphone but never really used it. Now, two years later, I have a new iphone but cant pair the Apple watch. it says "update unable to be completed because there is no Internet connection.” Please help

I have my daughters old apple watch. It tries to pair with my phone but says it needs an update but can’t since not connected to wifi. I can’t connect to wifi until it pairs, so what can I do? The older Apple watch was reset. It now tries to pair with my iPhone but says it needs an update first. I tried to update but I get message saying it’s not connected to the internet. However, there is no way to connect it to the internet until I can pair it. Is there a work around to updating the watch before it is paired? Thanks in advanced!

apple watch set up won’t update i’m trying to connect a new apple watch series three to my phone but it says it needs updating first. i’ve tried updating it about 10 times with different phones as well as buying a different watch but when it’s about to complete the update, it says there’s no internet connection and completely restarts. On a couple of occasions it went through to a preparing screen however it was stuck on that all day and nothing happened.

Did you unpair the watch from your old phone first?;
