Charging cables for iPad mini 6

I've just traded in my iPad mini 5 for a new iPad mini 6. I charged the mini 5 using either a lightning-to-USB C or a lightning-to-USB A cable, depending on the wall charger. Over years of iPhones and iPads, I've accumulated many such cables.

Is there any sort of lightning-to-USB C adapter that makes it possible to use the old cables with the new iPad mini 6, at least when speed is not the main consideration? Is USB C-to-USB C the only type of cable that works?
