important carrier message unlock iphone to view message and now can't charge my iPhone

I recently updated my phone to the latest IOS. After that, I got the message: "important carrier message unlock iphone to view message" so when I unlock and opn the message it doesn't want to open. My phone has also stopped charging and the issue is not with the charging port because I tried charging it with a wireless charger and its refusing to charge still.

Please help.

Hi refiloe12,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. Trying a wireless charger was a good idea to isolate the issue. Try the steps from If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support. The "If your device stopped charging at 80 percent" section may be particularly helpful if your iPhone already has some charge.

If you need further help with charging, check your battery's maximum capacity from Settings > Battery > Battery Health to check that it's over 80%. Since iPhone batteries are designed to retain 80% capacity for 500 complete charges, if your battery is under that it might help explain the charging issue. Reference iPhone Battery and Performance - Apple Support for more details.

Regarding the message you see about your carrier, that may indicate a carrier update is needed. Go to Settings > General > About to see if there is a message there regarding carrier updates.

Take care.
