Messenger in-app sounds keep turning on

Hey all

Does anyone else have a problem on the FB Messenger app, where every 12 hours or so, the in-app sounds toggle switch turns itself back on. Every single day, mostly twice a day, the app starts making noises at me again and I have to go back in and toggle the switch off. 12 hours later I am doing it again.

It has been doing this for MONTHS, through a few ios updates, app updates and 2 different iphones. Yet hubby, who has a Samsung, doesn’t have this issue. I have tried google, but no-one else seems to have this issue with the switch resetting itself.

Please help as it seriously infuriates me and the phone is about to be attacked with an angle grinder and cut up into 100 pieces lol.

For help with an installed app, you'll need to contact the app developer directly.

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support

"If an app on your iPhone or iPad doesn't work as expected, try this.

Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.
Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."
