Itunes artwork

I have recently been rebuilding my iTunes library from a mix of pre-purchased mp3s and my own CD collection. My preference is to to re-title album information for my own pleasure. In doing this I notice that in 80% of cases the wrong artwork displays ( seriously wrong artwork -eg wrong artist). I have tried to correct this by playing with different options in the information window and by pressing all the "acquire artwork" buttons in preferences or the drop down in Files( libraries)-but its a right old mess.

The long solution is to wipe everything and re-rip 1500 tracks. Alternatively I suppose i could wipe all the artwork of my entire library and just do without. A few years ago I tried imposing my own artwork on my collection but that corrupted the files -evidenced by the last 20 seconds of IOS playback not ending properly ......

How can I quickly restore original or near original artwork on my newly ripped 1500 tracks?

What I do is to copy/download a photo the album cover from whatever website I can find it on. Then in my music library I select all of the tracks of that album and Control (right) - click on them and select Get Info from the contextual menu.

I then go to the Artwork and of the Info pane for that track or album and drag the image file into the Artwork pane.

It was the same for iTunes before iTunes was discontinued.
