Ipad disabled--connect to itunes????

Long story short, my ipad is saying IPAD is disabled- connect to itunes. Well I did this and now my computer dont recognize my ipad. I can not get the IPAD to go into recovery mode. I have no idea if the computer cleared it cause I cant disable it!!! I have tired holding the power button then home button, volume up and volume down the home.. NOTHING IS WORKING. ITS ABOUT READY TO GO IN THE TRASH
