iTunes playlists

only part of my playlists in iTunes that I make on my MacBook Pro sync to my iPad and iPhone

Typically unchecked tracks are excluded from syncing. Also omitted is anything from an Apple Music subscription, content that is in the cloud, or items that aren't where they are expected to be and don't currently play on demand. You could also potentially have an option that blocks explicit content.
