Apple Watch activity tracker

Why do you not get credit for standing when you are standing during that hour or even when you are standing at 50 minutes past the hour when it reminds you to stand. Sometimes I can be out walking the dog for 30 minutes during that hour and don’t get credit or sometimes I can stand when it reminds me and don’t get credit.

Wildly Waving Arms A few months ago there was a discussion about how much activity people have to do to get credit for standing in any hour. If the watch does not note me standing by 50 minutes after the hour, it sends me a reminder to stand. I've seen that reminder several mornings after getting out of my chair, fixing a bowl of cereal and bananas, and even going to the bathroom earlier in the hour. That motion definitely takes more than a minute. That would certainly seem like a goodly amount of activity. As one person mentioned in that thread, maybe I do have to wildly wave my arms to get credit in that hour. Does anyone know what the "standard" might be? I have a Watch Series 8. Thanks, Neal

Apple Watch Series 8 Activity App - Stand ring I have the opposite issue to most of the questions I found here about the Stand app. I see that it gives me credit for standing when I'm not actually standing. For example, when I wake up, I see that it already gave me credit 3 or 4 hours of standing. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

You have to wave your watch arm as if you are walking,just standing won't do it.
