I currently cannot access my hotmail account with the iPhone app. I get the message “Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed”. I can, however, access hotmail via iPhone Safari. This problem only appears to be iPhone-specific as iPad mail works fine.

Are you able to delete the hotmail account on your iPhone and then add it back again? See whether that resolves the issue.

This worked thanks, although I did add a copy of my hotmail account first to see if it would solve the problem before deleting the original one.
