Re: bootcamp touchbar not working.

I had a similar problem and at one point the touch bar went dark in Windows 10. I uninstalled the device in the Device Manager, instead of simply 'updating' its driver, and let the software reinstall it upon restart. This solved it (it was a quick fix, without the need to download anything).

  1. Go to the Device Manager by right clicking Windows icon on bottom left.
  2. Under Human Interface Devices there should be multiple 'USB Input Device' items.
  3. For each of the 'USB Input Devices', go to the 'Driver' tab and choose 'Uninstall Device'. When you are prompted to restart the computer to complete the task, you have probably picked the right one (that is, the one corresponding to the Touchbar; for me, this was at the very bottom of a list of seven such items).
  4. After restarting the computer, the software should automatically locate the driver for the uninstalled device, provided you did have the Touchbar working at some point. Otherwise, you can update the driver in the Device manager. It should be located in the '$WinPEDriver$' folder, which is under the WindowsSupport folder (it's good to have 'Include subfolders' selected so that it scans all the folders).
