Why did the photo analysis stop at 25% and go no further?

Hello!

I have a MacBook Pro 13" 2017. I made a new photo library on an external SSD. The library size is about 180 GB (33,000 files). The Photos app started analyzing photos and stopped at a quarter. This has been going on for several days. By Activity Monitor I don't see heavy CPU usage when idle No face analysis in photos either MacBook connected to power.

How long can photo analysis take? Is it possible to somehow force the program to analyze photos at full capacity?

It can take weeks - or even months for larger libraries. Best advice is to forget about it and get on with using photos while you wait. There is no way to force it to go faster.

Thank you! The process ended this weekend. It remains only to achieve the launch of the process of analyzing people in photographs. The analysis does not want to start itself yet.
