My old Imac I have a Ethernet Port and Firewire port that I am using but the new Imac don't have anywhere to plug those two into. What is one to do for this problem.

Do you have a time machine backup? That is the best way. Get a USB-C to USB-A adapter to plug it in.
If you have the entry lever 24" iMac, the least expensive one, you have only Wi-Fi. For the others, the Ethernet port is on the power brick.
I have never used Time M. I back up my clients photos onto an external hard Drive . I’m in the photography business
