iPhone spiking volume on Lock Screen.

Has anyone noticed an issue with their volume when connected to Bluetooth headset or earphone? It goes both ways (spiking upwards or dropping to no volume whatsoever). It only occurs when I close my phone and it’s burst my eardrums on multiple occasions.

Overall surprising lack to volume control. I am new to iPhone and switched for a variety of reasons however am I missing something? Is there seriously still only a single adjustment for volume control? The seeming lack of control, or at the very least, the difficulty in adjusting is pronounced and surprising. I cannot find any setting to separate out media vs. ringer or other notifications. Volume on this latest iPhone are a decade behind what my vehicle is even capable of... well it is except when I connect my iPhone as it corrupts and prevents the vehicle from its full functionality. Calling using a speakerphone yields highly consistently inconsistent results where the ring volume at max is nearly inaudible but the call volume will blow your ears out. Lowest media volume is still double what's necessary making using it unpleasant for any loved ones at night. Is there at least an aftermarket app to fix what Apple presumably isn't capable of?

Speaker randomly turns off during phone call after updating to iOS 16.2 my iPhone 10 XR now after updating the iOS whenever I use the speaker, it randomly turns off multiple times. I’ve turned off the Bluetooth and have restarted the phone. Nothing helps.

iPhone ear speaker not working after update The earpiece speaker on my IPhone 13 Pro stopped working after I recently updated my phone to the new IOS 16.0.02. There have been not settings changes, no physical damage and YES, I’ve already tried every single ‘fixing sound issues’ article on Apple Support along with YouTube. None of those things worked. I noticed several other forums and commenters who faced the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this yet? Apple seems to be ignoring or avoiding the issue entirely [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Hello Indever,

Start by power cycling the iPhone using these instructions: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support. While simple, this can refresh the iOS, apps and connections.

If the issue continues, does it happen with different apps?

Does the same thing happen with different Bluetooth devices, or is it always the same one?

Isolating where the issue is coming from will help to find a solution.
