How to make Automations run automatically?

I want to set up an Automation to turn Wifi "Off" automatically when I leave my house, and vice versa. I can't seem to make it work. I have gone into Shortcuts and hit Automation, then +, then Create Personal Automation. For leaving, I chose Leave, then Any Time and chose Current Location, which finds my address. Then Done and Next and Add Action. Then I chose Set Wifi Off, Next and Done. Everything looks good. In Settings/Privacy Location Services is ON. Under Location Services I go to System Services and Location-Based Alerts is ON. But when I walk or drive away from my address, Wifi is not automatically toggled to Off.

I've tried similar with Arrive for setting Wifi On when I get back home. Same issue, although I noticed that if after I Arrive, I manually toggle Wifi to On in Settings, I get a tone and screen notification to RUN the Automation. That's not much help. What am I missing to get an Automation to actually Run itself when I LEAVE home or ARRIVE home? Thanks

bob ~ Some automations are viewed by Apple as a potential security risk if allowed to run completely automatically. They are triggered automatically, but will ask you for confirmation before actually running the automation:

  • Arrive
  • Leave
  • Before I Commute
  • Email
  • Message
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth

Enable or disable a personal automation in Shortcuts on iPhone or iPad
