I cannot find an app store on my 3rd generation Apple tv model to download HBOMAX.

How do I download HBOMAX on my 3rd generation Apple tv device? I cannot find an app store in the home screen on my TV. Thank you.

The App Store isn’t available on Apple TV (3rd generation). To get new apps that you can use on your Apple TV (3rd generation), update your software.

Doing the update your software as described above may install new apps but it does not install the App Store app.
