"AirPods (2nd Generation) Serial Number: [...] Check another serial number Sorry, we’re currently unable to validate your purchase date."

IMPORTANT: Keep Serial Numbers off of forums. These forums are out there for everyone to view. So, once someone sees a Serial Number, anyone can know to whom it pertains. So, for Security & Privacy, I've asked the Host to remove the serial number.

Troubleshooting AirPod Info:

A. Start here: If you see an alert that says "AirPods Mismatch" - Apple Support

B. Verifying Genuine AirPods:

  1. Get the Serial Number: Find the Serial Number of your AirPods - Apple Support
  2. Enter the Serial Number here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/.
  3. View the Results: If all shows up as an AirPod, then you are fine. If not, then these are fake, and that is likely why you are getting the issue of connectivity.

C. Getting the Original Date of Purchase:

Did you purchase AppleCare with these? If so, enter the serial number here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/. It will give you a date of when it renews (on the boom of the page). If not, contact Apple Support, proving them with the Serial Number (see below). If permitted, the Apple Rep would tell you over the phone. Provide them wit the Serial Number when calling.

D. A Glitch in Apple's Device Database?

I would contact Apple Support, asking them if there is a glitch in their user database. You should not be getting this message, if they have already been repaired. If these are used, then that may be why this is occurring.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

Securing your Info:

Seems to be of worry. So, contact Facebook for security measures, asking them if you can do anything about this: Go Here: Contact Facebook - Facebook. In the long run, learn from this, knowing to never share personal information (i.e. Serial Numbers) over the Internet.
