using usb-c to usb-a adapter to transfer photos from sd card

Hi,

I recently wanted to get into YouTubing. I bought my memory card for my camera. I bought a card reader for USB-A and I bought an adapter for my USB-C. I bought the apple adapter. My Mac hasn't been letting me upload the photos/videos. I have a MacBook Pro. I'm not sure what's happening. I've troubleshot with everything I've seen online. I haven't been able to find an answer to my specific question.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

The should work, but cards and their readers are some of the least reliable devices out there in my opinion.

Have you tried connecting your camera to the Mac and not using the card reader? My wife does what you're trying to do and her success rate went up when she stopped using the card reader.

Cards are fine in cameras, but if you search this community you'll find many posts of cards with Macs not functioning as expected.
