iphone 12 overheating when NOT USING

sometimes my phone gets dam hot when i'm not using it, no apps running, i've tried the force restart but that hasn't helped , battery is at 100% health, will this be covered by the warranty

Just because you’re not actively using your iPhone does not mean it’s not busy performing tasks for you.
