Safari-Google Maps-Apple Maps

I do not have google maps nor any of the google search apps download. I only use Safari. Now when I search for a location in safari using google, it opens up google maps in another tab then asks me if I want to download it. There’s no redirect to Apple Maps. It’s frustrating having to use the Apple Maps app directly in order for me to use it because I normally search up the location in google before I use maps. I don’t like using google maps. So I’m kind of annoyed that the ease of access isn’t entirely what I was expecting. Please share if there’s a solution to this. Also, I also don’t like using any other search engine including-(DuduckGo)
