iphone stuck on apple logo after updating

My father's iPhone 12 was updating and it just got stuck, and it has been stuck for the past 12 hours. We have tried literally everything, to hooking it up to my laptop and trying to finish the update from there and it didn't work, then we tried to restore it from my laptop, it was stuck for 30 minutes on "preparing iPhone". He even went to a Verizon store, they said they couldn't do anything. I believe we have tried everything, what should we do?
