Stop Siri from listening to audio playback

When I am listening to a podcast, SIri often gets triggered by something in the audio playback. I find it **** of creepy that Apple is listening to everything I listen too.

How do I disable or turn off Siri's ability to listen to the audio from my iOS devices?

Hello spilledink,

Siri and Hey Siri are great features of your iPad and you've come to a great place for help! To confirm, are you listening to a podcast using a wired headset or through the built-in speaker?

Whether you're using the built-in speaker or a headset, do you notice if the top button on the iPad is pressed? If so, this can enable Siri as outlined in the "How to use Siri on your iPad" section of the following article.

Use Siri on all your Apple devices

If the top button isn't being pressed, it's possible that Hey Siri may need to be turned off and re-enabled to ensure it recognizes your voice properly. Those steps are listed below and can be found in the following article.

  1. "Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Siri & Search.
  3. Turn off Listen for "Hey Siri," then turn it back on.
  4. When the Set Up "Hey Siri" screen appears, tap Continue.
  5. Say each command that you see on your screen.
  6. Tap Done."

If "Hey Siri" isn't working on your iPhone or iPad

Let us know how that goes!
