Apple studio display blinking/flickering when scrolling (and when not scrolling)

I am keen to hear is anyone having this issue.

When I am using my studio display (connected to my MacBook Pro 2017). I am having. issues with excessive blinking flickering of the display.

Although the issue occasionally also happens when I am not touching my Mac the easiest way to reproduce the issue is by simply opening a website (like this one) and rapidly scrolling it over the screen (websites with a lot of content seem to work better, but it has been difficult to tell this for sure).

When connecting the USB-C cable to a different port the issue temporarily seems to subside but after a minute or so it returns. I am planning to take my display backt to te store but as I am not not 100% sure it is really the display that is causing the issue (I guess it could be the laptop or cable as well) I am keen to hear input from other people.
