If Find My is shared within a family, can we all see the AirTag?

From: How to reset your AirTag - Apple Support

"An AirTag can be associated with one Apple ID. If you want to use an AirTag that someone else has used, they need to remove the AirTag from their Apple ID first. If the previous user removed the AirTag from their Apple ID but they were out of Bluetooth range of the AirTag, then you need to reset it before you can use it with your devices."

So basically, no, it is not shareable.

It’s refreshing that you’re studying-up in advance. 👍

If YOUR tag is traveling WITHOUT you (i.e. “unaccompanied”) it will initiate “alerts.”

This is a mix of “beeps” by the tag and/or alerts on nearby Apple devices.

The following article should be understood by you AND whoever might be traveling w/ the “unaccompanied” AirTag.

What to do if you get an alert that an AirTag, Find My network accessory, or set of AirPods is with you - Apple Support

Lastly, DO understand that an AirTag doesn’t directly communicate w/ the mobile network or even know it’s own location. It depends entirely on other cooperating devices to report it’s position. If there’s not another Apple device in fairly close proximity, the reported position will go “stale.”

For a technical primer on how it works, see this article:
