Removing someone from Find My that is also a family member

Hi all! Just had a question that I can’t seem to find a concrete answer for and I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

If you were to remove a friend from Find My that is also a family member through family sharing, will it send a notification to the family organizer or anyone else in the family if everyone is an adult?

I would like to remove a few people from Find My but they are also sharing location through family sharing…just wants to make sure that none of them receive a notification if I were to remove them through the Find My app.

Thanks!

Hello Charactaranula,

No notifications are sent when you elect to stop sharing your location with someone else:

Stop sharing your location with a particular person. In the Find My app , tap the People tab, select a person, then tap Stop Sharing My Location at the bottom of the screen.

If you started—and later stopped—sharing your location in Find My, the person isn’t notified and can’t see you on their list of friends. If you reenable sharing, they get a notification that you’ve started sharing your location with them.

Hopefully that addresses your inquiry.

Take care.
