MPEG FILE not showing in Music file

I converted an iTunes song to MP3 although it shows as MPEG, which I found out was basically the same as. Unfortunately, when I want to put it into a PowerPoint Show I can't access it in the iTunes media file. When I did this yesterday for another song it worked as it went into the media file. Not sure what to do at this point.
