Does anyone else experience the same issue with the brand new MacBook Air?

I received my replacement. It was fine for a few days, but it's started having the same issue! It does sound like some kind of vibration with the keys. Gotta say, considering the cost of these devices, this is not okay.

Hello tarocai,

If your speakers aren't working properly you can try these basic steps: If the internal speakers on your Mac aren't working

You'll also want to make sure you've covered the basics like restarting and making sure your system is up to date.

Shut down or restart your Mac

Update macOS on Mac

If the speakers are still distorted, then it's time to have the device serviced. You can find available service options for Mac here: Mac Repair & Service

Cheers!

Mine also had the same issue. Seems to happen with higher frequency sounds especially in compressed audio like video conferencing.

Try lightly putting your hands on your keyboard to see if that gets rid of it. On mine it seems to be that the speakers are vibrating the keyboard keys.

Currently working through it with an apple rep.

Sent them a bunch of information and videos. What they told me is that its all going to engineering to look into but no details on what was happening.

What they said was I could wait to see if they find a problem and a solution or to bring it to an apple store to see if they can resolve it or replace it there. It doesnt bug me enough and I'm not convinced a replacement with fix it so im just going to wait it out. Early model adopter tax :D

Yes! This is happening to me too! I've had the machine for a little under two months, but the buzzing just started a couple weeks ago. I first noticed on Zoom calls, but it doesn't seem to happen as regularly with music, strangely. I've also noticed it when I get an Outlook notification.

I took it to the Genius Bar and they ran some diagnostics and at first they said it passed and they tried to dismiss me. But then I played the Outlook notification sound and they agreed to replace the machine. It's apparently too new and they don't have any replacement parts yet. Also the tech who helped me heard the noise when playing some Beyonce, which I think clinched it somehow.

Currently waiting for them to let me know it's ready to pick up, since I'd ordered it custom.

I have a similar problem where at a certain point I have a sound interference (crackling sound over the voices) in conferences, It happens both with a headset (not Apple) and the AirPods and continues with the M2’s own sound system even after they have been disconnected. The M2 is only a month old so this is worrying. Do I have to go back to the store or are there solutions?

and of course, restarting in the middle of a conference or training session is no solution when we are participants…

If the buzzing sounds come out only at high frequencies then mostly it is normal and just the speakers trying to decode as much as possible.Maybe a bit too much.Otherwise if it sounds normally, on calls etc.. it might be a bug or a problem of the hardware. If you are not sure which one it is I advise you to listen for the sounds a bit more and if it gets worse then I would send it to the seller of whom you bought it from or a service...Hope this helps a bit
