High Sierra imac doesn't recognize iphone . Ask for permission and shows it in USB devices but does not show in "computer"

All Apple devices show up in the PC's "Device Manager" (as a Portable device) when the pop-up "Trust this computer" appears on the said Apple devices (clicked on Trust). But, PC's Windows File Explorer shows all devices except the iPhone 12 as being connected. Therefore, Apple Devices works with all other Apple devices except the iPhone 12. I've called Apple Tech support. Any suggestions would be a big help! [Edited by Moderator]

THat is, when I open "computer" it is not displayed as a device, and the phone functionally is not connected
