Voice Memos being shared

How can I turn off Family Sharing for Voice Memos? My wife and daughter each have their own AppleID, but somehow we all have copies of each others Voice Memos on our phones. how can we turn this sharing off? We do use Family Sharing, but don’t see a way to disable sharing these files. We don’t want to disable iCloud backup because these memos are critical to save. Just don’t want to share them.

Hello operaguy18,


With everybody having their own Apple ID, it is very odd that you are seeing each others Voice Memos.


Let's see if we can reset the connection for the Voice Memos and iCloud and see if that helps.


On each iPhone, follow these steps:


  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap [your name]
  3. Tap iCloud
  4. Toggle Voice Memos off. This should prevent Voice Memos from syncing to other devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID.
  5. Wait 30 seconds
  6. Toggle Voice Memos on
  7. Create Voice Memo and see if they sync to other devices
