HP tells me that they are not up to date with the latest Monterey OS. Printer working, scanner not. HP Smart works but doesn't offer the same scanner options- less options than the printer's app.
Mostly, this is to inform people. I'm not sure if I hunt around if I am able to find a driver that will help.

if it was me then I would go here Official HP® Printer Drivers and Software Download
and type in the exact model number and check if they had a driver for Monterey and if so install that
Yes, I did that and there isn't the driver needed. Not yet at any rate. I wrote them about it.
I apologize. Once I seriously explored HP Smart, I found most of the features I needed. Still, there is no update driver for my machine which is only 2 years old.
I'm talking about HP OfficeJet Pro, series 9013.
