iphone se: how to turn off auto correct

having trouble finding answer. with my iphone se in sending email i type into subject, "ID pix" and it decided that it should be "I'd pic". what the heck that is not what i wrote. i want to turn off all that apple thinks i what i really mean. there ought to be one button that turns off that off and all the annoying suggestions where Apple thinks they know better.

i like to remind that the words: pixel; pix; pixelated, words have been around since 1936 and reused in a perry mason episode. no need to correct for pre-existing words;-)

any help with this is greatly appreciated. my only alternative is to add an apology on behalf of Apple as part of my signature for Not updating their dictionary.

iPhone SE, iOS 15

Hello xoques,

You can turn off the Auto-Correction, Predictive text, and other keyboard features you want to disable you want to disable on your iPhone. Take a look below.

How to use Auto-Correction and predictive text on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Open the Settings app > General > Keyboard and you find the options to turn off these features.

Going over all the settings should help set up the iPhone SE so that it will work for you as needed.

Take care!
