Apple News accidental subscribing

Is there a way to disable the subscription turn on function in Apple News. I have accidentally subscribed twice over the last year while browsing news articles and have needed to plead with Apple to cancel and refund my subscription payment done by accident. Basically it is too easy to accidentally subscribe and accidents do happen.

Nope. There is unfortunately no way to turn it off, but it also not something that can really happen accidentally.

You need to tap like 3 different times on things to confirm the subscription and then double tap the actual physical sleep/power button on the outside of the iPad to actually subscribe. . There is absolutely no way this can happen accidentally. It does not just happen by tapping once on an article.

I disagree it is actually quite easy, for example as I browse articles sometimes you suddenly realize the article you are looking at the headline and if you are not careful the authorization fingerprint identity check pops up and whammo you have subscribed.

It has already happened twice to me so now I REALLY need to be careful.
