Safari not connecting to United Airlines wifi

Safari has never connected to the Wi-Fi capture screen on United Airlines for me. To get it connected I have to fire up a windows browser using parallels. This has been the state for several years. Embarrassing Apple!

To connect to United Wi-Fi, follow the steps below as well as all flight crew instructions for the use and storage of electronic devices:.

  1. Make sure your wireless device is in airplane mode with only Wi-Fi enabled.
  2. View available wireless networks and select "United_Wi-Fi."
  3. Launch your internet browser. If you aren’t automatically redirected to the United Wi-Fi portal, type "unitedwifi.com" in the browser's address bar.
