That old an iPad may not be compatible.

If you are using a service, like the new T-Mobile Internet service, old iPad models will not be compatible with 4G/5G cellular data reception/transmission or with 5g WiFi.

Such old iPads use a much older WiFi specifications/protocols and will NOT be compatible with current WiFi specifications/protocols.

Time for a new iPad.

I am NOT sure which new iPad models are compatible with 4G/5G cellular serviices or with the current 5g WiFi protocols.
