2021 M1 Max 16 inch PWM flicker issue

Hi,

Does anyone know when Apple will be releasing a flicker free display for their MacBook Pros?

Or whether there is a solution to the 2021 M1 Max 16 inch PWM flicker issue?

I’ve recently upgraded my 15 inch MacBook Pro retina with a 16 inch MacBook Pro M1 Max. My old MacBook Pro used DC dimming tech that didn’t cause any eye strain but unfortunately my new M1 Max hurts my eyes due to the PWM (Pulse-Width-Modulation) dimming tech which is inferior, and causes eye discomfort.

I need a solution and am asking whether improving the display is on the roadmap?

Or whether there is some way in which I can make using the computer bearable? Without needing to buy a monitor.

I will likely sell my new M1 Max at a financial loss and migrate away if I can’t get answers.

Attached is a picture demonstrating the issue.

PWM (Pulse-Width-Modulation)

Medical issue would be best directed at a qualified doctor.

Hi, leroydouglas,

You did not answer any of my questions.

My post includes a photo clearly demonstrating the visual evidence of the issue. You may need to visit an ophthalmologist if you can not see pink toned horizontal lines.

Your response is unhelpful, rude and disrespectful. I have 20:20 vision and healthy eyes.

Furthermore, as an Apple customer for over a decade I have used many Apple devices and have never experienced display issues until purchasing this 16 inch MacBook Pro M1 Max.
However, Apple utilising this slow and poor quality screen for a market leading ultra high end laptop at this price point, I believe is unacceptable. I would appreciate genuine answers to my questions.
