Double Tap for App Purchases/ Passwords

The last few months my I phone 12 pro started working improperly. Every time I try to download an app I can no longer double tap to purchase. It then asks me for my password which I put in and get the response that it is incorrect. I know its not incorrect but I play along and change it. I have changed my password at least a dozen times, I am not over exaggerating. It happens time and time again. I have followed the instructions on previous forums to access double tap and it worked one time. Reverted back to not working and now continues not to work no matter how many times I try to redo the steps, restart my phone or update it. With how many other users I have seen with this problem, this cannot be on the user! This has to be an apple problem. When is this bug going to be resolved? How long is it going to take? I love my apple products but I am beyond frustrated. More so extremely tired of trying to fix a problem that doesn't seem can fixed on my end. Real help please! No more redirecting to a previous conversation that I have already followed and didn't work.
