Part of the screen disappeared for no apparent reason on my M1 macbook


It's a phenomenon that's happening multiple times with friends around me.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.0

That looks like a hardware issue most likely with the Display Assembly which will need to be repaired. You can confirm by taking a screenshot, then viewing the screenshot (make sure to slide the picture to the right so you can really tell if the defect shows up in the screenshot). Or view the screenshot on another device or display.
