NOTIFICATION TONES Since IOS 17 we are not allowed to change the notifications tone, especially for third-party apps. The default tone is very quiet. For example: Blink app sends notifications whenever a security camera is activated. But with the default tone being so low, the alert can barely be heard, this makes no sense. I would like Apple update the software so that we can choose what tone is the best for any app.

iOS 17 issue with notification related to tone volume Spent 1 hr with AST to bring back tone and volume higher for alerts receiving from Security Cameras. NO LUCK AT ALL. Very disappointed by upgrading iphone 7 to 15pro. iphone 7 still have no issue as it is with ver 15.0. Alert too quiet with IOS 17.0.1 update The ios 17.0.1 update’s default tone is too quiet. I can no longer hear my home security alerts - completely negating the purpose of having a home security system. I’ve tried every fix suggested with no luck Why “fix” something that was working well, Apple? I sure hope an update is released (soon) to remedy this “fix”.

If this is a critical alert that comes from a certain app, check the app's own settings to see if you can change it. If you're talking about critical alerts in terms of public emergencies, government alerts, etc., the tone for that can't be changed.
