Genuine question: Now that in Indonesia smartphones with NFC are ubiquitous, why don't more transit agencies integrate fare payment with Google Pay or Apple Wallet? It'd allow people to switch seamlessly between agencies and save you from having to remember to load some fare card.

Apple has provided the infrastructure - and MANY agencies around the World HAVE implemented it.
If your particular agencies haven’t, suggest that you - and your like-minded friends and colleagues - contact the agencies and request it.
